LEAD BACKEND ENGINEER FOR KINOPOISK
In March 2019, the company decided to not consider our candidate for the Java developer position due to lack of experience. The customer could be understood because the candidate's CV did not reveal important details.
But we also knew the real qualifications and skills of this engineer, and we were absolutely sure that he was suitable for that position. We took the risk and asked the customer to do the interview with this candidate.
He successfully went through the whole process and received an offer for a Middle engineer position. After 7 months, he became a Lead in the Kinopoisk backend team.
After his arrival, the project was rebranded, new key features were added and it became the Kinopoisk we know and use now. Nowadays we are proud to say that we are involved in the development of Kinopoisk.
KAGGLE MASTER(TOP 4) FOR HUAWEI
Huawei asked us to find the best candidates for the ML Researcher position. So, we immediately went to Kaggle and decided to focus on the top 10 in the ML community.
Here it is worth mentioning the ambition of our goal. These guys get hundreds of messages, emails and offers every day. So it is not easy to get to them.
We'll skip the details, but we managed to discuss our position with a few of them. And two of them, the second and fourth places in the ranking, went through the recruiting process till the end.
There were a lot of interesting moments in this story, and hiring for an international company has its own specifics. But for a year and a half, our candidate has been successfully working as a Researcher at Huawei. And we are confident that he will revolutionize the field of computer vision with his ideas.
Our candidate, who has received a job offer from Ylabs, has a large family, and it was important for him to have medical insurance for the entire family.
Startups rarely have perks like this and usually don't have the resources to deal with such requests. But the company was interested in our applicant, and he liked the position and the project team.
Of course, we could continue to search and find another candidate for this job, but first of all we decided to try to solve the problem or find a compromise.
We made a few calls and helped Ylabs to find a company with good conditions for VHI. In addition, we gave them a small discount so they could stay within the budget that we agreed on.

In 2020, our candidate with tons of experience, strong knowledge of C ++ and good soft skills, suddenly did not pass an interview for a senior developer position.
We did a detailed screening, so we were absolutely confident in his skills. The company also liked him, but they offered only a middle engineer position, although they noted his potential.
We do not abandon our customers or candidates. We decided to find out what happened. It turned out that our developer had no interview experience in the last 4 years.
He was not able to gather his thoughts when it was necessary to solve abstract problems during the interview. At the same time, the developer said that he really wants to work for this particular company, even if it didn't work out at the first attempt.
We discussed what can be done in such a situation and requested detailed feedback from the company's team leaders. They suggested what our candidate should pay attention to, and which books and online resources would help him
After 3 months, he easily passed the interview for a senior position. The team leaders who interviewed him fought for him to join their team. As a result, he is satisfied with the work, and the company got an excellent employee.
